Why do we do missions?
Our Lord Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Missions for us is reaching out to people with love, compassion and mercy. Our Lord Jesus Christ’s passion is for us to go, and care. So we go, because we love and care for people.
We are eternally grateful to our Lord for making the heart of Faith Family Baptist Church, a heart that loves people through missions.
How do we do missions?
We use His strategy. He gave us two offensive weapons: prayer and His Word. Ephesians 6:17-18
We want to alleviate people’s pain and give them hope ~ the eternal, permanent, life transforming hope that comes from our Lord Jesus through His death on the cross for us. This hope comes through personally trusting Jesus Christ as the only way of salvation. Trust that comes through the Word of God. For this reason, Bible distribution, saturated with prayer, is very important in the life of Faith Family.
During 2009 we returned to Mardi Gras in Galveston, Texas We went back to Galveston during March’s spring break to love on the hurricane Ike victims. In May we returned to Estonia, Eastern Europe, while in June we went to Waterville, Maine. July saw us in Moscow, Russia, as well as in Indonesia. August in Sturgis, South Dakota loving on bikers. October in Marseille, France.
